hey Guys welcome to the Page!

I will be running a backyard ultra to raise money for the red kite foundation. 

My daughter has been diagnosed with LCH, Langerhans cell histiocytosis is a rare disorder that occurs when a type of immune system cell called Langerhans cells build up in your child’s body. When these cells accumulate, it can cause tissue damage and tumours to form. The outlook for the disease depends on where the cells affect your child’s body.

My daughter has been fighting this condition for 12 months. During our journey the red kite foundation has supported our family and I wanted to find a way to give back.

The Event 

 Smurf's Backyard Ultra is set in tropical Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. Traversing 6.7km's of the famous Smithfield Mountain Bike Trails, runners tackle a lap on the hour, every hour, until they can no longer continue!

I will be uploading weekly training reports for the next 2 months 
and during the event i will be uploading hourly updates.
