Climb Mt Kilimanjaro 2025
Selecting my Redkite fundraising event for 2025 was all about a physical challenge and a unique adventure on a road less travelled.
Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa from 9th to 16th October was the perfect choice.
Word spread amongst family and friends, and we now have 13 people climbing Kili.
We chose to walk over 8 days along the Lomosho Route to give us the best chance of summitting.
My campaign started brilliantly in Jan & Feb but went downhill quickly with “bad feet”: hole in my plantar fascia tendon on my left; and bursitis on the right.
So, no walking for the past 6 months. Feet are improving now but still not right - PRP, cortisone, & diamox should be my answer – fingers crossed they will stand up to the rigours of Kili.
My fitness campaign starts today, only 8 weeks until I fly out - eeekkkk!!
