Fundraising in Memory of Aiyana
“When I was 8 years old in 2018, my sister Aiyana was diagnosed with Stage 4 sarcoma. She was in and out of Westmead Children’s Hospital for more than a year. On the 26th of July, 2019, my sister passed away at the age of 15 and it has been almost 4 years since.
My family and I would like to show our appreciation for Redkite and raise funds to cut my hair. This amazing charity was able to support and bring happiness to Aiyana during the time that she was battling cancer. She especially loved the arts and crafts that were offered, as she was an incredible artist. She was also very excited to receive her Bravery Beads along the way. In our experience, Redkite plays such an important role in creating a better environment for children in hospitals.
As it is close to her 4th death anniversary this year, I would also like to donate my hair to Variety Australia. I want to support other children with cancer and hopefully bring a bit of happiness during their journey.”
