For Katrina, Redkite’s bereavement peer support group has been a lifeline.
“It helps with the sense of isolation. We all know it. We all feel it. Having that safety net of other people you can talk to – it’s been a lifeline.”
At Christmas, Ace remains part of the family. His angel sits atop their Christmas tree, and they remember him by looking up at the stars.
“When I spoke to my other children about Ace dying, we decided that Ace had gone to be a star,” Katrina says. “So every now and then we'll go out at nighttime and find his star in the sky.”
